Qimen An Tea is a type of post-fermentedcompressed tea that falls between black tea and green tea. It is a historicalfamous tea belonging to the category of black tea. Originating around 1725 (endof the Ming dynasty and beginning of the Qing dynasty), it was first created inthe areas of Luxi and Rongkou in the southwest of Qimen County. Production washalted during the resistance war against Japan, but it resumed in the 1980s.The finished product has a deep black color, with a thick, slightly reddish brew,and a fragrant yet astringent taste. It is mainly consumed domestically in theregions of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hong Kong, while being exported to variouscountries in Southeast Asia, earning it the title of "Holy Tea."
